Celebrity StrategyI have fielded dozens of questions about celebrity support for nonprofits over the years. How do we take advantage of celebrity connections or supporters we already have? Is the best way to reach a celebrity a publicist, agent or manager? Is there a downside to working with a celebrity? Do celebrities draw people to events? Do celebrities convey credibility? How can we use a celebrity to reach a national audience? And so on. In truth, each celebrity relationship is unique and requires an individual solution based on an organization’s goals. In broad strokes, I recommend focusing on meaningful long-term relationships with credible supporters, utilizing a celebrity’s access to national media, and building a portfolio of celebrity assets. In one workshop, I can provide the tools and guidelines that will help you develop successful relationships with celebrity supporters.
